How to Quote a Remodel Job

Remodeling contractors will do the following when estimating a job:

• Material – Price out the amount of material based quantities and supplier prices.
• Labor Hours – Estimate the number of total hours and the number of crew.
• Additional Costs – Factor in the cost of subcontractors, waste management, etc.
• Overhead – Add in the day-to-day overhead costs (office space, fuel, license fees).
• Profit Margin – Establish the target profit margin and calculate it using known costs.
• Final Amount – Add all the above together to present to the client.
