Estimating Labor

While the estimated cost of restoration might not reflect the final price, the following will often be approximated to give the customer the cost of labor:

• Disassembly/reassembly – The time it takes to take each component apart and rebuild.
• Inspection/documentation – The initial cataloguing and organizing of each part, determining what to replace, rebuild, and keep.
• Stripping and repainting – Removing all existing paint and giving fresh coat + finishing.
• Engine restoration – Rebuilding suspension, replacing brakes, rewiring, transmission overhaul etc.
• Bodywork – Removing rust, dents, scratches, patches, welding new parts, adding body filler.
• Finishing – Final paint corrections, detailing, alignments, road testing.
