A construction receipt is a document sent to a client by a contractor or company to communicate that money has been received. Whether the job is T&M (time and materials) or a fixed price, the receipt will list the initial balance owing, the date payment was received, a description of the work done, and the date the receipt was issued.

A construction receipt is a document sent to a client by a contractor or company to communicate that money has been received. Whether the job is T&M (time and materials) or a fixed price, the receipt will list the initial balance owing, the date payment was received, a description of the work done, and the date the receipt was issued.
A construction receipt should include a simple overview of the costs, a line that shows the balance has been paid, and the information of both parties, the job (i.e., location and service dates).
It should not include what the contractor paid for each material, or a detailed, line-item description of each individual service.
