How to Estimate Snow Removal

  • Cost of Materials – How much salt, sand, and de-icing agents for each visit.
  • Cost of Labor – The hourly rate x the number of hours x the number of visits.
  • Type of Job – Could be per push, per inch, seasonal, per event, hourly, multi-year.
  • Profit Margin – Most snow removal companies aim for 30-50% profit margin.
  • Overhead – Costs like insurance, equipment depreciation, admin costs, maintenance.
  • Location – Where the company is located; especially pertinent for seasonal clients.
