While some offer free service calls, many refrigeration repair companies will charge a service call and diagnostic fee to compensate the repair person for their time and expertise identifying the problem.
Including this fee in the repair estimate makes it clear to the customer that the initial visit will come at a cost, regardless of whether any actual work is performed.
